Gulfstream Aerospace has announced the finalization of its newly expanded aircraft completions operations at St. Louis Downtown Airport.
The expansion, representing an over $30 million investment, adds on to Gulfstream’s preexisting maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility, originally built in 2017. According to Gulfstream, the expansion enables the facility to support full aircraft interior outfitting.
“This St. Louis facility expansion is a continuation of our company-wide growth strategy to support the production of Gulfstream’s industry-leading fleet,” Gulfstream President Mark Burns says. “It positions our team to further support completions of our next-generation aircraft for customers all over the world as demand for these aircraft continues to grow.”
Gulfstream currently employs more than 600 at its St. Louis facility, which occupies 645,013 ft.² at the airport. Additionally, the company has added 200 jobs in support of the expansion, with many of the positions already filled. “The St. Louis area is a booming aviation hub filled with skilled and capable talent, and that has played a role in our continued investment in the region,” Burns says.
