Viracopos Airport serves Campinas, located 100km north of São Paulo, and is one of three major airports in the region. Dominated by Azul, it is the fifth busiest in Brazil serving almost 70 domestic destinations. The airport has two IATA codes, CPQ and VCP, with VCP used for São Paulo flights. Privatised in 2012, it is operated by the Aeroportos Brasil consortium, which holds a 51% stake, while Infraero retains a 49% minority stake.
