As investigations continue into the June 12 Air India Boeing 787-8 crash in Ahmedabad, India, the airframer has confirmed Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President Stephanie Pope will no longer attend the Paris Air Show.

Ortberg, who would have been attending his first major airshow since taking the Boeing post, will remain with Pope in the U.S. to focus on the investigation into the accident that killed 241 of the 242 people onboard. Boeing says it is yet to decide whether several other events planned for the show will occur as planned.

Meanwhile, GE Aerospace, which built the GEnx-1B engines that powered the Air India 787-8, has cancelled an investor day on June 17 which was to coincide with the industry gathering at Le Bourget.

Prior to the Air India accident, which marks the first hull loss of a Boeing 787 since the type entered service in 2011, Ortberg was expected to provide an upbeat progress report on Boeing’s recovery to financial health—including updates on the delayed certification of the 737-7, 737-10 and 777-9—which he had previewed in an exclusive interview with Aviation Week.
